A Southern California native, Janelle made her Broadway debut last year as assistant dance captain and Mrs. Maruyama in the ensemble of the Original Cast of “Allegiance: A New Musical,” alongside stars Telly Leung, Lea Salonga, and George Takei. Previous to that, Janelle’s stage credits include award-winning productions of Miss Saigon with the Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Kwai-Fa in the Geffen Playhouse production of “Paint Your Wagon,” Tiger Lily in the Cabrillo Music Theatre production of “Peter Pan,” Christmas Eve in the DOMA production of “Avenue Q,” and Yuko Mikage in the East-West Players production of “Takarazuka!!!”
She has danced in the feature film, “Memoirs of a Geisha,” the Miss Universe Pageant, “The Young and the Restless,” and has worked as an assistant choreographer in the 2006 Gay Games Closing Ceremonies and the 2006 Spotlight Awards.
Her training includes a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the UCLA school of Theater, Film & TV, as well as ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and theatre dance from Edge PAC and UCLA.
